Here we strongly recommend a guided tour to the fortification island Enholmen when those tours are running. In the summer, there is a very informative factory tour at the Cement Factory, a walk to Lillungsrev, a walk past Sju Strömmar and Bogeviken on the disused railway embankment, a car trip to Asunden with the beautiful Raunkar "Draken Katla", "Spikklubban", "Dromedaren" and "Klätterapan" and with a stop in Barlast where you can see the development of lime kilns over the centuries. On the way back, take a short detour to the Vikings' feast hall with all the oaks and hazel in Dagghagen Nature Reserve.
Here we recommend a visit to the ship setting and grave of Gotland's discoverer Tjelvar, the Sock Factory where wool is transformed into beautiful clothes, Bronze Age graves in Trullhalsar, the Ancient Cottages in Norrlanda, lunch at the fish smokery in Katthammarsvik, the Magical King's Hall in Mullvads Strandskog, the largest ancient fortress Torsbrugen, and if you have the energy, all the way to beautiful Närs udde with the lighthouse.
Here we recommend a visit to Hångers Källa where "Den blomstertid nu kommer" was written, which in turn is a stone's throw from Gann Ödekyrka. Then a trip to Bläse with a train ride for the children and climbing up on the slag heaps with all the messages to the sky, the Stone Coast with the red valerian and all the cobblestones, Blue Lagoon with a dip in a limestone quarry - although we actually prefer the industrial Smöjens limestone quarry for a swim.
